ILUX Estate and Facilities management

IT services designed to meet the needs of today’s estate and facilities management

Estate and facilities management is undergoing significant change in how it both uses and provisions technology for its staff, customers and visitors. For estate management, digital signage provides an eye-catching, cost-effective way to engage visitors. Staff and visitors increasingly expect wi-fi access, with both internal and outdoor connectivity.

Answering these needs, ILUX has developed specific expertise and experience in supporting these areas.

Case study

Chiswick Park is home to a number of high-profile global, European and national headquarters. It’s home during the working day to thousands of people and to its all pervasive belief that if people enjoy work, they do better work – if they do better work, you have a better business.

As Chiswick Park has such a wealth of open outdoor space, they wanted to make Wi-Fi freely available to all their ‘guests’ to encourage workers to step out of the office and enjoy the great outdoors.

To help achieve this, we installed our high-power external access points on the roof of buildings. Utilising multiple meshed access points and different antenna types, we were able to maximise coverage and data throughput. Our external access points can withstand all the elements of the great British weather, including extreme temperatures.

The access points are all linked to and controlled by an ILUX SENTRY-WX Wi-Fi controller providing content filtering and Quality of Service traffic management to ensure a safe and consistent service to all users. In addition, the system is fully compliant with all laws and regulations.

A fully branded captive portal is also in place to ensure the recognisable and powerful “Chiswick Park – Enjoy-Work” brand is echoed throughout the service as a benefit to everyone at Chiswick Park.

Case study

155 Bishopsgate is currently the largest building at Broadgate, home to some of the world’s biggest corporations and top professional practices including AXA Investment Managers, Baring Asset Management, Lloyds Banking Group, Mitel Networks and Tullett Prebon.

With over 400 visitors a day, 155 Bishopsgate wanted to improve its check-in process for visitors, making it faster and more personable. The concept centred around moving the check-in from the reception desks to standing meet-and-greeters equipped with tablets being able to access the days visitor schedule, logging them as having arrived, and being able to print a visitors pass.

We installed our high-power external access points on the roof of the buildings. Utilising multiple meshed access points and different antenna types, we were able to maximise coverage and data throughput. Our external access points can withstand all the elements including extreme temperatures.

The access points are all linked to and controlled by an ILUX SENTRY-WX Wi-Fi controller, providing content filtering and ‘Quality of Service’ traffic management to ensure a safe and consistent service to all users. In addition, the system is fully compliant with all laws and regulations.
